Thanksgiving

I was reminising about this past Thanksgiving and it brought back memories of Thanksgiving during my younger days (ys, I can remember them, my mind hasn't become total mush yet.)

We had a quiet Thanksgiving this year. Just my wife and our kids. As we were eating dinner, which by the way was excellent, my wife is a great cook, I started thinking about when there used to be like 25-30 people at my mom & dad's for our annual family Thanksgiving. Do I enjoy the quiet times of my life now, or the hectic and nosiy and crazy times of years past.

I prefer the quieter times of the present Thanksgiving. No having to fight for 1 of the turkey legs, being told they are for the adults, waiting in line for the cream corn and mashed potatoes, trying to squeeze in at the BIG table, only to be admonished again with the saying "for the adults."
Not being able to watch what the kids wanted to watch on the old black & white tv, and if by chance we did get to watch something, having to get up from the comfort of the couch to change the channel, only to come back to my seat and find another annoying cousin sitting there and being told, "well, you got up, so you lost your seat." Damn relatives......

Now I always get the turkey leg, because I am the adult and I said so. I get to watch what I want, because I am the adult and I said so, and when I feel like changing the channel just click the remote, no losing my seat, since I am now like Archie Bunker and have my own chair.

Hope your Thanksgiving was good, and there was no fighting over the turkey leg.

Meeting new friends

Funny how you can be friends with people and never have met them.

Met someone yesterday that I've chatted with a few times on a biker page and we had a couple of great hrs bullshitting.

This reminds me of going to Sturgis this past summer. Finally met folks I already considered great friends, and after meeting them it only confirmed what great people they really are.

Thanks all....you've enriched my pitiful life.

Ranting and raving

Well, here goes nothing.

My 1st post into this life called Wayne.

I started out just wanting to added a comment to my friend from Cut & Shoot and ended up here with my own place to RANT and RAVE. Poor souls, now there's another place for me to bore you with the trials and tribulations of my wonderful life.

I'll try to make it as painless as possible, although sometimes pain is good.

Thanks Carol, like I don't visit the internet enough, I needed another place...................lmao
